We currently have an exciting opportunity for a SysML Modeler in our Electromagnetic Systems (EMS) Group located in Huntsville, AL.
The SysML Modeler will use a standard modeling language to capture system and software design choices in architectural models.
This individual will assist in standardizing model development, diagramming both system structure and behaviors, promoting reuse in the organization, observing and understanding the broader system environment.
Responsible for grasping the function of each component within an application, understanding the interactions and dependencies among components, and communicating these concepts to the software developers.
DUTIES AND
Responsibilities:
Work with architecture and multi-disciplinary teams to develop deployment, block definition, internal block definition, activity, state machine & sequence diagrams.
Add to the SysML/UML model to support auto generation of documentation.
Assist with developing the scripts to auto generate and format our documents (SDD, ICD, etc.
)Read and understand C and C+
programming languages.
Assists in defining, documenting and communicating the architecture ensuring that the team is using the architecture and using it correctly.
Interact with stakeholders to ensure their modeling needs are being met.
Assists in planning and coordinating the maintenance of the SysML model.
Performs other duties as assigned or required.

Job
Qualifications:
Typically requires a bachelors degree, masters degree or PhD in engineering or a related technical discipline from an accredited institution and progressive engineering experience as follows; four or more years of experience with a bachelors degree or two or more years of experience with a masters degree.
May substitute equivalent engineering experience in lieu of education.
Prefer candidates to have Engineering, Computer Science or Information Systems degrees.
Progressive SysML modeling development experience required.
Familiarity with SysML modeling tools such as MagicDraw is preferred.
Familiarity with design patterns is a plus.
Must have a detailed knowledge of systems and software development concepts, principles, and theory and have applied that knowledge in the development of new principles and concepts.
Knowledge of C and C+
programming languages is a plus.
Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills are required enabling an effective communication interface with other departments, all levels of management, professional and support staff, customers, potential customers, and government representatives.
Must be able to work on a self-initiated basis and in a team environment.
Able to work extended hours as required.
US Citizenship is required.
Must possess an active DoD Secret security clearance, with the ability to upgrade to Top Secret, is required.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
